Rimmel Provacalips Play with Fire

I've been looking for a liquid lipstick that wouldn't make my mouth feel like sandpaper after removing it. I found the Rimmel Provacalips  and wanted a really nice red color, and went with "Play with Fire" because it was a deeper red. To my surprise, this beat some higher end liquid lipsticks like the Clio Lipnicure and the Lime Crime Velventines.

Color: *****
It's a nice deep red depending on how you build much of the color you build it up to. When you build it to full opacity, it's the beautiful deep red color that I love so much. The other end is the lock in lip gloss and it's a transparent color

Texture: ****
The liquid lipstick side is pretty liquidy. I didn't expect that at all. When you pull it out of the tube, it takes out way too much and when you scrape it on the side of the tube to get rid of the excess, you can see the actual product slowly dribbling down. As for the lipgloss side, it's quite the contrary. It's more thick in texture and you can feel the thickness when putting it on your lips.
Note: The liquid lipstick side does have a stickiness to it, so I found that patting it down with a translucent powder, letting it sit for a bit, and then brushing it off works nicely.


Note: The lip gloss side does have a stronger floral smell whereas the liquid lipstick side doesn't.

Effectiveness?: *****
This has lasted through an oily Chinese meal and oily pizza. When I wore the velventine in Salem out for pizza, it came right off as I finished my pizza. The lipgloss side is amazing if you want a more moisturized and shinier lip. Note: The lip gloss doesn't ruin the effect of the liquid lipstick. It does lock the color in!

For the price, it sure packs a punch. I bought it for roughly $9.00.

I definitely recommend this to those who are looking for a true liquid lipstick that'll last throughout the day. It doesn't budge and without the lipgloss, it's kiss proof!

Wet n Wild Glitter Singles

     I've been really loving glitter, And I've been seeing girls put glitter on their cheeks and it's the cutest thing ever!

    So, I decided to go to my local drugstore and pick up one of the glitter singles since it looked like they packed a lot of glitter for a pretty low price.

Color: ****
-It has sort of holographic glitters in it that shines a orangey greenish blueish silver color depending on the lighting and how it hits the glitter. I actually like it! I was looking for a more pinkish color, but this is nice too

Texture: ****
-When you dip your hand into the pan, you can feel the glitter embedded into the jelly that has the actual glitter in it. When applied to the skin, the glitter doesn't feel scratchy and sticks nicely to the skin.

Glitter payoff: *****
-You can definitely customize how much glitter you want. It's build able so you can build up the opacity of the glitter on the skin.

Removal: ***
-It's a pain to take off. Because it sticks to the skin nicely, it kind of clings on and doesn't let go. Which is a good and bad thing. For me, it's both. The glitter gets EVERYWHERE when you try to take it off. It gets all over your hands, and on objects you wouldn't even think glitter would get on.

Price: *****
-You get a lot for what you pay for! If you're a glitter lover, I think this is worth it.

Overall:  It's pretty good for the price! I'll probably buy some more!

The camera didn't capture the glitter as well as it should have, but I guarantee you that it's very bright and eye catching!

Lately there has been a new trend going around the internet. Known beauty gurus of the internet such as RCLbeauty101 and Tina Yong have done reactions, DIY’s and impressions based off this new look. Peel-off makeup has gained high popularity within a month.

Peel-off makeup is supposed to give a light tint without actually applying makeup and worrying about leaving residue. Their products range from only lip stains, eyeshadow tattoos, and eyebrow tints. Some people believe it’s a new way save time, others people wouldn’t even be seen in public like this.

“I rarely use makeup, but I think it’s something fun to try out, but not to actually go out on a day to day basis with it. I would use if for just something to play with, but other than that it’s not worth it to spend the money and time trying it out when you can actually be doing your makeup yourself” stated by Liliana Martinez sophomore from RFK High School.

Whether this is a beneficial or a playful new makeup product, it’s a new fad that has surfaced the internet that can be worth a try for anyone. Most people are still sharing their opinions and thoughts on the product but still hasn’t reached as much notoriety yet.

Etude House Berry Delicious Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara

To be honest, I only bought this mascara for the packaging because I love strawberries and this mascara had strawberries printed all over the top of the mascara tube. Well, it wasn’t the only reason. I really wanted a light brown mascara and the color they offered was a light brown. I had high expectations for this mascara, and I wasn’t disappointed!

It’s so cute! I love the color combo because it reminds me of chocolate covered strawberries *mouth waters*. Not only that, but there are strawberries all over the mascara tube too! The mascara wand is kinda weird. It’s a bit iffy, but it gets the job done pretty nicely! I use the closer bristled part to comb out my lashes and extend them, then I go into the wider bristled part to add more volume.

It’s a really nice milk chocolate light brown color. My eyelashes are black, and this mascara tinted it to this soft brown color that I’ve been looking for!

Lasting power: *****

When I say this is waterproof, IT’S WATERPROOF! It won’t come off with water, and you have to use an oil based makeup remover (I use coconut oil) to really get rid of it.

Does it work? *****

I haven’t tried this with uncurled lashes, but with curled lashes, it definitely extended my eyelashes making them look long with a natural voluminous look to them. It held up the curl really well and didn’t let my lashes droop all day. It really is magic!

I would definitely recommend this to people who have trouble with keeping their curl throughout the day and also with smudging. It’s great for asian lashes, and I’m sure it would work just as well for any other lash types! Plus, the packaging is really cute :).

PROM. It’s a four letter word that requires a lot of preparation. The guys are expected to dress in suits and girls hunt for the perfect dress. Prom dress shopping is difficult. The style, color, length, designer, and price all come into play.

1. Flair Boutique

They carry a variety of well known designers such as Jovani (as shown above in the photos), Sherri Hill, La Femme, Terani Couture, and Aidan Mattox. The store is located in Long Island. If interested, Flair recommends that you schedule an appointment ahead of time.

2. Camille La Vie

Camille La Vie has tons of different types of dresses for your style and a wide range of colors. From nude to hot pink, this store has all the hues. This store is located in Long Island, New Jersey, and New York.  

3. Macy’s

This store has tons of prom dresses on sale from $30-$395. This store includes designers such as Lauren Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Betsy and Adam, etc. This store can be found in many places and one of the famous and oldest one is located in Manhattan, NY.

Lord and Taylor has prom dresses for many different budgets. The dresses range from $40 to $1,500. They sell many dress by widely known designers such as Calvin Klein, Guess, Mac Duggal, Nicole Muller, Vince Camuto, and etc.

Pzaz has a new prom 2016 prom collection that includes well known designers such as Sherri Hill, Faviana, and Alyce. They have multiple styles with different lengths. This store is located in Middle Country Rd.

6. David’s Bridal

David’s Bridal is generally known for their wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. Not many would know that they have a selection of dresses. They offer most sized dresses (0- 26).

7. Payless Dresses

For over 27 years, they have been selling party/prom dresses, shoes, and accessories. They buy overstock from stores such as Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, Macy's, etc. All dresses are sold for $109.99 and below. Purses are sold at $35, shoes at $30, and accessories at $15 and below. They are located in Maspeth.

Mac "Sweet Sakura" Lipstick

(Excuse my dry hands)

     To be honest, I got this lipstick for it's name "Sweet Sakura". It has two of my favorite things in life, sweet things and sakura flowers. When I tried it on at the Mac counter, I bought it after I tried it out. I'm glad this shade became my very first Mac lipstick!

-It's not THAT bad, but it's pretty expensive for something that I barely apply. 

Packaging: ****

-It looks sleek and like very compact. I especially like the silver lettering.

Shade: *****

-It's really pretty! It's very muted in the photo I took, but in real life, it's a bright red with pinky undertones and has a slight golden shimmer. 

Texture: ****

-It's very creamy and glides on the lips effortlessly. But, I feel that other drugstore lipsticks can also mimic the texture of these lipsticks, for half the price.

Overall: ****

-The names nice, the shade's beautiful, and it's a really good quality lipstick! For $17 I feel like it's what you pay for.
